2011 Sport Horse
Nationals

Congratulations to owners Anita & Harry Polk on Masada Mazal
achieving 2011 US National Top Ten in Sport Horse Show Hack!
Show Hack is essentially a dressage class held on the rail and
M&M has excelled in this as he has matured into a stallion with
powerful and extreme movement. This was the stallion's first
time to compete at the national level and we are so proud of
him!

2011 OVAHA Summer
Sizzler

It was a
girls' weekend out when we took off to Ohio with two of our
favorite show horses looking for cooler weather at the OVAHA
Summer Sizzler in July. Babson Egyptian stallionMasada Mazal &
Jill Girardi Thomas continued their winning ways by winning the
Sport Horse Show Hack class and qualifying for Sport Horse
Nationals in September. Not to be outdone, Jacklyn & Flash Fire
SC also qualified for SH Nationals in SHIH Amateur Geldings!
Then they went out and won both Hunter Under Saddle JTR classes!
This is only their second show together, so we are very proud of
them and the hard work they've put in getting ready!

2011 Egyptian
Event

It was time for
the boys to shine at this year’s Egyptian Event! Babson Egyptian
stallion Masada Mazal (Valerie Clinkenbeard photo) and trainer
Jill Girardi Thomas presented a very popular show hack
demonstration and were honored with the first annual Markel
Performance Award. He followed up this beautiful demonstration
later in the week with a Reserve Championship in Native Costume
- only his second time ever to compete in this discipline!
Jill presented 1993 stallion Sondal (Imperial Imdal x Imperial
Sonboleen) twice in the stallion showcase to large crowds
anxious to meet this genetic giant. Then, proving that classic
type is timeless, he & Jill followed up his last Event Top Ten
sixteen years ago in 1995 with a 2011 Top Ten in Aged Stallions!
Not to be outdone, 2009 Scapa son, Escapade SHF, made his
Egyptian Event debut, earning two top tens in both the 2 year
old Futurity with Jill and 2 & under ATH colts with Miller
Pinson.

Dixie Gulf Ruff

What fun we had down on the Florida Panhandle - 3 horses and 3
championships! The 80 degree weather in November didn't hurt
either...Congrats to Masada Mazal making his debut in Show Hack
and bringing home the championship with Jill. BH Bonavox made
his Class A show debut and came home Jr Champion Gelding and
with the blue in Geldings Amateur to Handle against all ages.
Flashfire SC also made his debut with new owner Jacklyn
Abernathy and they won the Sport Horse in Hand Amateur Gelding
championship, as well as 3rd in the large junior to ride hunter
under saddle class.
